My name is Brendan Murphy. I started V8 Motor Imports in 2010. Our mission is to keep the supply of used American V8 motors and suitable transmissions available to our Petrolhead Nation. What some of you may not know, is that during the recent financial crisis the US government introduced a scheme called "Cash for Clunkers". This scheme allowed you to trade in an old car regardless of condition and receive up to $5000 off the cost of a new car.

This was, of course, to try and stimulate the stalled automotive industry (remember General Motors went broke). But what it also did was see a great deal of classic American Iron ending up at the scrap yards, a crying shame.

The net effect of this is older engines, gearboxes and transmissions are getting a lot harder to find. You certainly can't walk into a wrecker and they have V8's stacked ten high in the corner, unfortunately those days are gone.

However we have the connections in scrap dealers, wreckers, car dealers, clubs, private collectors etc to find what you need and ship it back to your door in New Zealand. We currently have in excess of 250 units in stock across all the major marques.
